Award Winning Architecture
Home to the United States Sports Academy’s faculty and staff as well as the American Sport Art Museum & Archives, the institution’s main building is an architectural marvel.
Designed by Loftis Bell Downing and Partners and constructed in the late 1970s, the former home to an oil refining, distribution, and drilling corporation is held up by poured concrete columns at the corners and connected by outsized laminated timber beams for horizontal support. The beam over the front entry stretches 120 feet, while similar beams of Southern yellow pine line the interior of the building.
